Dr. Julie‘s approach
Dr. Julie is known for offering therapy with sincerity. Her patients have said that there is nothing high and mighty about her except her big 80’s hair! She is down to earth while offering research-based, real-world guidance with compassion, respect, and genuine appreciation for her clients.
Dr. Julie has been a therapist for over 30 years. As a psychologist, there are virtually no topics that she is not familiar with. People have come to her office with issues and challenges of all kinds. Relationship problems, anxiety, depression including Major Depression Disorders, Bi-Polar Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, addictions, and family and marital issues are some of the problems Dr. Julie works with.
Dr. Julie asks the hard questions and encourages her patients to “keep their hand on the stove” while figuring out what drives their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. While this can be challenging for patients, the compassion, support, and encouragement Dr. Julie offers ease a complex process. Her modalities include insight-oriented psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Existential and Trauma-Focused Therapy for adults.
The best and worst days of Dr. Julie’s career are when a patient is discharged after meeting their goals. It is such an honor to get to know people as she does that the emotions are strong when it is time to part. Although Dr. Julie is always there for a tune-up if needed, saying goodbye reflects hard work done well.
If you or a loved one can benefit from a bit of nudge (or shove, as the case may sometimes be) towards self-improvement, please call Dr. Julie at 845-647-1750. In-person as well as telehealth appointments are available. Most insurances are accepted as well as a self-pay rate. Please call for more information.
